DLH, Inc. Signs Strategic Partnership with U.S. Postal Service

IntelligentFirstAid Kits to be Used in All Postal Service Facilities and Vehicles

Tinton Falls, NJ (May 28, 2003)—DLH, Inc. and the U.S. Postal Service announced today their entry into a National Strategic Partnership for the use of DLH's patented IntelligentFirstAid kits in Postal Service facilities and vehicles across the country. The partnership went into effect on May 5 and is expected to run through 2013.

The national partnership - some four years in the making - enables the USPS to purchase DLH's IntelligentFirstAid kits specially designed to meet the needs of the Postal Service. Kits have been customized to meet the demanding specifications of the USPS safety officer, with particular attention to caring for injured workers in postal service facilities but also in postal vehicles. The USPS facilities kit is based on DLH's "On the Job" (industrial) Grande, which provides both supplies and simple instructions for addressing the eight most common injuries in the workplace.

"We originally saw the DLH kits at the National Safety Council's annual Congress, several years ago," said Bonnie Timko, __________ for USPS. "Right away we recognized the value of combining supplies with instructions, enabling virtually any of the 750,000 USPS employees to assist one of their colleagues in time of need."

DLH's line of IntelligentFirstAid kits is unique in the first aid injury and is protected by multiple US and international patents. The kits combine supplies and instructions in a simple and organized package, providing even the most untrained first responder with the ability to provide often-critical assistance.

"DLH has experience providing emergency care in such remote locations as the battlefields of Vietnam and offshore oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico," said Dave Hammond, President of DLH. "Unintentional injuries are the single largest killer of people under the age of 40. We understand that and we have designed our IntelligentFirstAid kits so that every Good Samaritan will be able to help."

The USPS kits will carry the widely-recognized Postal Service logo, along with additional supplies added to meet USPS's specific medical requirements. The partnership provides for two kits (a larger one for USPS facilities and a smaller one for vehicles) plus the full range of refills available directly through DLH. Orders under $10,000 may be purchased using the USPS internal credit card system.
